Why lot documentation matters
Research buyers evaluate materials by paperwork as much as by price. A Certificate of Analysis (CoA) ties a specific lot/batch to laboratory measurements. Pure Lot Lab attaches CoA documentation to listed lots when available.
Common CoA sections
- Identity — confirms the labeled compound (often via MS / HPLC-MS).
- HPLC purity — percentage of the main peak under the analytical method used.
- Mass content — measured amount in the vial versus the labeled amount.
- Appearance — e.g., lyophilized solid.
- Batch / Test ID — identifiers that should match the vial label.
- Heavy metals / endotoxin screens — when provided, report pass/fail or measured limits under the stated method.
How to use a CoA responsibly
Match the batch ID on the vial to the CoA. Keep files with your lab records. Do not treat a CoA as medical clearance, a dosing guide, or proof of suitability for human use.
